About

Full-stack Java developer with 8+ years of experience building and running complete products. My focus is Java/Spring Boot microservices in Docker, with message queues, REST APIs and SQL databases behind them and Vue.js frontends on top. As lead developer at VEDS Group I build and run client platforms in EV charging, IoT, sports tech and healthcare, including the CI/CD and the Linux servers they run on. In my own time I built Allsono, a multi-platform product I run end-to-end.

How I work

  1. 1Understand

    I start with the client's problem, not the technology. Together we decide what the software must do, for whom, and what success looks like.

  2. 2Design

    Then I choose an architecture that fits: simple where possible, scalable where needed. With attention to security, maintenance and running costs.

  3. 3Build

    I build in short steps and regularly show working software. Code reviews, automated tests and CI/CD make every version reliable.

  4. 4Run

    Software is only done when it runs well. I set up servers, monitoring and updates, so a solution stays stable and secure after delivery.

Software for external clients in EV charging, sports tech, industrial and medical applications.

  • Lead for a team of 3 frontend and backend engineers: architecture, code reviews and delivery.
  • Manage the company network, servers and systems; work directly with clients and mentor junior engineers.

CPO platform for a nationwide charge point operator 5,000–6,000 charge points

  • Built a microservice architecture of about 20 Java 21 / Spring Boot 3 services, each in its own Docker container and orchestrated with Docker Compose for development, test and production.
  • Spring Cloud Gateway as the single entry point; services talk asynchronously over RabbitMQ, backed by Redis and MySQL with Flyway migrations.
  • Central system for OCPP 1.6 over WebSockets for live communication with the charge points; OCPI and OCHP/e-clearing integrations for roaming with other networks.
  • Smart charging based on dynamic energy prices and weather data, to charge when energy is cheapest.
  • Services for transactions, charging cards, authorisation (Spring Security, JWT), invoicing, helpdesk, e-mail, push notifications and a public REST API (OpenAPI).
  • Integration with the client's ERP (Odoo), running on-premise on company servers that I manage.
  • Vue 3 + Vite frontends (customer portal, admin, web shop) and native Android and iOS apps.

Plays one song on all your devices at exactly the same time: audio from one device streams sample-accurately to Macs, Android phones and iPhones on the same Wi-Fi. Designed, built and operated by me.

  • Backend: Spring Boot 4 (Java 21) REST API on PostgreSQL with Flyway: accounts, e-mail verification, password reset, admin portal, release feed and rate limiting.
  • Security: Ed25519-signed app licences, hashed device tokens and Cloudflare Turnstile.
  • Frontend: Vue 3 + Vite site, prerendered for SEO, in four languages.
  • DevOps: GitHub Actions tests, builds and deploys every push to a Linux server (nginx, Let's Encrypt).
  • Apps: Android (Kotlin, Compose), macOS and iOS (SwiftUI, Core Audio) with a custom TCP protocol and clock sync.
